About Us

Hope House was established in 2014 by the Braisted Family who were living In the Dominican Republic and had been made aware of the growing number of children living in the streets, staying with neighbors or living with adults who were not fit to care for them.

We believe that every child deserves a home. We also realize that it is not always

possible for children to live with their biological families but we have committed

to providing them with a family environment where they can feel safe, protected,

and loved.

We believe that God has a special plan for each life and provide them all of the

opportunities to grow, learn, play and reach their full potential. Our desire is not

to only provide them a meal and warm bed to sleep in, but a life that is fruitful. A

life that gives them a hope and a future!

Sponsorship

Sponsorships are a crucial component of how we are able to care for the daily needs of our children. A full sponsorship is $600 per child, per month, but can be broken down into smaller amounts, such as $50 per month. In which case we find multiple sponsors per child. As a sponsor you will receive an updated photo at the beginning of each school year, and access to updates on social media. Each child that is part of our family recieves:

Christian Education

Medical and Dental care

Extracurricular Activities (sports, hobbies, camps)

Psychological and Counseling Care

A Safe Home and family environment

For more information on how to become a sponsor, please email Amanda at amanda@hopehouseintl.org

Hope House Land

In 2016, we were blessed to be able to purchase 5.5 acres of property in a rural area in the Dominican Republic. We immediately set out to have plans made for the future Hope House Complex.

The plans include four, two story buildings. Each level of each building will be able to house eight children for a total of 64 children. There are also plans for an official size soccer field, a large, free-range chicken pasture, a barn with animals (for animaltherapy), administration building, and several acres for planting crops.

This land is the future of Hope House and the catalyst we will utilize to help more children have a place to call home.

We are currently launching a capital campaign to raise the funds to build. If would like to be a part of this project and the future of Hope House, click here.

The Braisted Family

The Braisteds moved to the Dominican Repbulic in 2006. After serving the Dominican people for six years, God began stirring their hearts for the many children who were living in desperate situations of poverty, abuse and neglect. After investigating their situations, they came to realize that there were more than 250,000 children in the Dominican Republic without a permanent place to call home. They wanted to do something to help.

In 2014, the Braisteds decided it was time to open Hope House. After a three year process, the first three girls arrived at Hope House. The Braisteds manage all of the administrative needs of Hope House, oversee the training of the “Tias” (or care-givers), and are there for the needs of the children living at Hope House. Their desire is to help children heal from their pasts, in order to set them on a path to a future full of hope, love and family.
